IB World School Candidacy

KCCSEBlog3

Kid’s Community College Southeast is in the candidacy phase to become an IB world school.  International Baccalaureate schools have a positive impact on students as well as schools by incorporating learning beyond the classroom.  IB offers an innovative approach to education by focusing on student centered learning.  We are focused on increasing overall rigor, academic standards, and 21st century skills to help develop global citizens who will create a better, more peaceful world.

The aim of all IB programmes is to develop internationally minded people who, recognizing their common humanity and shared guardianship of the planet, help to create a better and more peaceful world.

This month students are focusing on the MYP Learner Profile trait of being Communicators.  We express ourselves confidently and creatively in more than one language and in many ways. We collaborate effectively listening carefully to the perspectives of other individuals and groups.

Students are learning and working on this through many aspects from Spanish lessons, to giving reports in class, to working on projects for the International Festival.   Students and staff alike are really starting to get excited about the International Festival.  I hope to see you all there!  If you would like to order a shirt for your child and/or yourself please stop by the office or send in your order form before Wednesday, February 15th.
