Dear Student Families and Associates,

I know that the past several months have been among the toughest we’ve faced.  The last part of this school year was filled with unexpected circumstances that few of us could have imagined. Despite the past challenges and inherent future uncertainties surrounding the virus, KCC Schools have risen to the occasion to support their students, staff, and families in the face of these uncertain and challenging times.

Our schools will reopen on August 24, 2020.  Students have three options for high-quality instruction.  Although traditional Hillsborough County Schools have indicated all students will learn virtually through September 18th, Kid’s Community College Schools have not made a final determination in this regard.  Our small footprint and individualized approach give us the advantage of staying true to who we’ve always been by focusing on a smaller student body and fewer students.  This allows us to be more flexible and effective in our solutions and knowing the needs of EVERY student intimately.

Kid's Community College Riverview South K-8

"Dedicated to the well being and educational success of every child."

As a pioneer in the school choice movement, KCC Riverview South has been a home to hundreds of Riverview students for more than a decade.  Founded in 2005, the charter school grew from a humble K-2 beginning serving 66 students to what is now a K-8 offering for approximately 600 students annually. Tailored to the needs and interests of every student, this Multiple Intelligence focused institution is an ideal environment to be challenged academically while still getting the individual, personalized attention that can only be achieved in a small setting.  Riverview South began the KCC tradition of creating a place where every student is more than just a number, is personally known and is challenged to reach their own maximum individual potential.

KCC Riverview South has maintained its AdvancEd Performance Accreditation since 2010.  Using a set of rigorous research-based standards and evidence based criteria, AdvancED Performance Accreditation examines the whole institution – the policies, programs, practices, learning conditions and cultural context – to determine how well the school achieves its vision and is able to meet the needs of every learner.  Year after year, KCC has met the rigors of AvancED Performance Accreditation by consistently:

  • Meeting the AdvancED standards and accreditation policies.
  • Demonstrating quality assurance through annual internal and engagement reviews.
  • Engaging in continuous improvement.
  • Achieving high academic achievement

AdvancED Performance Accreditation is not about earning a label for a one-time evaluation. Rather, it recognizes those institutions that have sustained an exemplary commitment to continuous improvement and learner outcomes over time.

Riverview South adheres to the KCC mission to be “Dedicated to the Well-Being and Educational Success of Every Child” by focusing on rigorous academics, instructor professional development, extracurricular activities, academic and athletic competitions and a weekly character education program.  Students are provided with opportunities to join groups and clubs that are student-led and centered around various disciplines including Science, Robotics, Math, Art, Music and many more interests.

Riverview South remains a high-performing institution that has been recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Tampa Bay 9 times. Its tradition of academic excellence, investments in individual student success, and commitment to providing unrivaled enrichment opportunities make KCC a great place to learn, but it is the dedication our faculty and staff make in our students that make it truly exceptional.
